Institute for Intercultural Studies English School, also known as I I S English School, is part of I I S Language Schools,
owned and operated by the Institute for Intercultural Studies, Inc.
Institute for Intercultural Studies, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization in the state of California, and is dedicated to improving intercultural communication between the speakers of English and those of other languages.
Institute for Intercultural Studies Language Schools, established in 1978, are approved to operate by the Bureau for Private and Postsecondary Education in California. The Schools have maintained the approved status for more than 30 years at the current location.
I I S English School offers approved courses in English as a Second or Foreign Language for Speakers of Other Languages. The courses are designed by specialists to improve the students' spoken and written English for academic and professional purposes. The classes are taught by native speakers of American English.
The I I S Language Schools are authorized by the United States government to enroll non-immigrant students on (F-1) Student Visas. We issue SEVIS I-20 forms to qualified full-time students.
The school is located at 11729 Gateway Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064. It is at Barrington and Gateway in West Los Angeles, easily accessible by bus. The Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus that runs between UCLA and Santa Monica stops right in front of the school gate. Located 3 miles from the beach, the participants at I I S schools enjoy cool breeze and mild climate. Housing is available upon request in the walking distance from school.
The schools are on the quarter system, but shorter sessions are offered in summer. Classes are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. No classes are held on weekends and holidays.
